my friend has been really into the glider ep by mbv but honestly it just doesnt hit me as hard. I only just jammed loveless for the first time the other week and it was cool but I expected it to be dronier. it was a lot more upbeat than I anticipated. slowdive and planning for burial are more up my alley.
I swear ive heard one of their songs at least twice on loveless and another on glider...
mbv def uses material from their eps on their full lengths. and how did you just listen to Loveless? fuck that album is amazing. I love Slowdive but MBV is more my thing. Loveless and all the EPs are great. I can never get into their debut album.
Yeah i've pretty much gone local for heavy music, especially this year. Denver's stepped their grind and doom game up a ton.
I've also gone the electronic route but in the other direction. Synthwave, chillwave, nu disco, etc
check out oOoOO and holy other if you havent yet. Im not too keen on the exact differences between synthwave, chillwave, witch house, etc, but no doubt youd find very redeeming qualities in those artists.
oOoOO played at my favorite venue here either last year or the year before and im extremely upset with myself for not going.

I read recently that they got back together. A lot of the old 90s bands are doing the reunion thing now. Makes me feel old. I saw them on Lollapalooza when I was like 15
Artist called tiasu. Great mixture of synth, 8-bit, chiptune, and symphonic power metal. Couple songs feature Christopher de Cinque from Closure in Moscow
I find myself in this weird place in life where a lot of bands I used to like have put out bad music for so long that I've stopped paying attention. I haven't listened to LOG since 'Sacrament'. Dahlia since 'Miasma'. Intronaut since 'Valley'. BTBAM since 'Great Misdirect'. I've lost a lot of interest in Kylesa and Baroness and Mastodon now. It sucks. Especially since not much has come along since that generation of bands to really take their place.
