I used on think I Will Return was the greatest song to close a show with. Still pretty sweet but not the best. Caught a setlist last time I saw them. Ritual was kind of when I stopped listening to them so I wasn't too familiar with the songs. Mainly went for Skeletonwitch.
I was in Hatebreed pits when I was in high school. Looking back though the tough guy act is corny. TBDM used to be one of my favorite bands. No hate here.
I'm sure it can be for some people. Almost every song is about being an underdog and fighting for yourself. But now when I look back on it and the way I used to look at their music....I feel what I imagine is the type of cringeworthy feeling people that had an emo phase in middle/high school feel.
Idk it's helped me through some shit. I'll slide off the fanboy dick and grant you that some of Hatebreed's music is pretty cheesy (especially the later materiel) but I really love their first four albums still. And man they fucking slay live. I've never been disappointed with their live show.
I've only kinda halfass seen em live. I saw them open for Danzig in like 99 when I didn't really know who they were and I saw them finishing up before Down on Ozzfest one year. The only thing I really remember either time was Jasta being like "I don't care if you're a goth kid or if you have a mullet, we are all metal todayyyyyyy! This song is about strength of self!"
