I don't think any new scene bands that have formed recently have gotten big enough to get noticed. Scene bands are still being formed, but the genres relevancy is definitely vanishing. Smart scene bands are migrating to djent.
The Mayhem kiddies eat that shit up. Last time I checked his page like a year ago people were constantly asking him "Do you think ___ will be on the lineup?" like he had insider info or some shit.
I Was thinking about behemoth earlier. Since they are headlining metal alliance I bet there is something in the contract about not being able to play other major touring festivals similar to the rule venues have on contracts where bands can't play within so many miles of the venue for a specific time
