You're probably referring to a North Jersey accent, which is the famous one. Us from South Jersey speak differently.

i dont have an accent and i live in north jersey. none of my friends do either. i've only heard a few older people with it.

It's probably the biggest difference between North and South Jersey. Is she from this area?

Middle/South Eastern Virginia, right around Richmond, Norfolk, or Virginia Beach.

If you're going to live in Hampton Roads, don't fucking live in Norfolk..... Live in Virginia Beach. The cities border each other, so it's not like you'd be driving far to get to get to Norfolk if you end up working there. Norfolk is extremely ghetto. There are a few nice places to live there, but that doesn't protect you, because the criminal element will walk over to the nice neighborhoods (because the nice areas are directly beside the rest of the shitty areas) to break into cars and whatnot. Virginia Beach has its bad spots too, just like anywhere else, but it is much safer than Norfolk.

I've only been to Richmond a couple times, so I've only seen a few areas, but it did not look all that great out there. I'd recommend Virginia Beach over Richmond.

I love Virginia, I don't really care about the ghetto areas, If it was Richmond, I'd probably move to Chester, VA. and if it was Norfolk or VA Beach, it'd probably be Newport News.
