Am I the only one who thinks Shinedown overdoes their live sets for the music they put out?
I'm not calling them a shitty band, but to me it seems like they try to cover up the fact that their music is nothing all that special with a live show. Almost like they know.

Motley Crue. I saw them in 08, they sucked. Saw em with KISS, they walked through the crowd with an entourage shooting "guns" off and shit. Not gonna lie, started getting pumped. Nah, they sucked. Had cirque de solei shit going on the whole show to cover up vince neils shitty vocals.

Had to drive from Austin to Dallas the morning of this show without too much sleep since I had been visiting/partying with friends the night before so I was pretty tired most of the day. The light rain and endless amounts of energy drinks definitely were life savers for me, and now on to the review:
Bow Prometheus - Local "core" band that hit pretty much every stereotype of their genre. Synchronized headbanging, loads of breakdowns, very colorful image, and a singer that talked too much about haters and weed. Oh and not to mention their clean vocalist/guitar player should never sing again, his voice was flat as all hell. Definitely a weird way to start off the show. 4.5/10
Within Reason - Had never heard of them before and ended up being blown away. These guys sounded amazing and their songs were incredibly catchy. They had a bit more smoother hard rock sound and played really well. The setlist was a nice mix up too as they even threw in a 50 Cent cover that came out a lot better than one would expect. Would love to see these guys again sometime. 8.5/10
Mindset Evolution - Watched them from the rockstar tent, I'm gonna pass on scoring them since I didn't really get a good look at them. Sounded pretty good from where I was at though.
Thousand Foot Krutch - Finally got to see these dudes live. They put on a pretty sweet show for the time they were given. Good hard rock sound and some really catchy tunes made their set fun to watch, lots of energy from their singer too. Definitely made up for the time I missed them last spring. 8/10
Deuce - What the hell is this shit? Crappy rap/rock music that is well over a decade too late. I swear the only word he used more than "party" was "fuck", which made for some of the most annoying in between song banter of the day. The only good part about his set was the cover of "Undead" that was played first, and it only went downhill from there. Never again. 2/10
Redlight King - Didn't watch.
Fozzy - This was the band I was here to see, and not even for their music. I got to stand 10 freaking feet from one of my favorite pro wrestlers ever, Chris Jericho. I was freaking out like any typical fanboy would, and they put on a hell of an entertaining show. Jericho knows how to work a crowd, as he interacted with us through the whole set. The rest of the band played great as well and I didn't realize how good some of their songs actually were. So happy I got to see them as they very rarely tour, and being able to see Jericho up close made the whole show worth it. 8.75/10
P.O.D. - These guys kicked their set off better than any of the bands up to this point. Tons of energy from these guys as the intro led perfectly into one of their most popular songs "Boom" that got the crowd moving fast. People were going all over the place and the band played great. Their frontman definitely knows how to get people to move as they were way more intense than I had expected. These guys have some really good material too, although it seemed like some of the songs kind of dragged on more than they should have. Also could have done without the preaching as well as that became a bit too much as the set went along. Overall a lot of fun to see though, and glad I finally got the chance. 8/10
Adelitas Way - Ok, now don't get me wrong, these guys sounded pretty decent, but I just wasn't too impressed with their set. It seems like these guys really wished they played in a metal band because the lead singer was head banging like crazy and jumping around like a madman which came off as a bit overdone in my opinion. They also threw in these ridiculous bass drops like what you'd hear from a br00tal core band for whatever reason. Their song "Invincible" was pretty good though so props for that. 6.5/10
Staind - Solid set that I enjoyed throughout. They come off heavier live than one would expect and Lewis has quite the vocal range. Their sound was spot on and the setlist was great, lot's of stuff that I recognized. Again, their guitar player was way over the top though. It's like seriously dude, you're in Staind, quit fucking headbanging so hard during songs like "Right Here" and "So Far Away". Other than that, one of the more entertaining sets of the day, and a great build up for what would be my headliner of the night, Godsmack. 9/10
Godsmack - One of the bands that first got me into heavy music, so I was excited as hell to see them regardless of how tired I was at the time. They played all their classic material, which had me singing along throughout most of the set. The dueling drum solos were again fantastic, and songs came out great. At one point in the set they even brought out the guys from Staind and played "This Love" by Pantera as a special tribute to Dimebag (like I don't hear enough of that being from the Dallas area). It's not one of my favorite Pantera songs, but it was cool seeing it played live. After "This Love" they finished off a fantastic set with "I Stand Alone" that had the whole crowd getting into it. It wasn't too different of a set that I had seen them play 1 year ago on Mayhem, but I'll let it go since they're one of my favorite hard rock bands. Definitely a great finish to a really fun day at Uproar, and for $20 tickets I'd love to go again next year. 9.25/10
Shinedown - Left before they played because......who cares.
Am I the only one who thinks Shinedown overdoes their live sets for the music they put out?

I think they're just doing it for Uproar, when i saw them a couple years ago they had no props or pyro or anything, and they didn't have much when they did this radio fest here back in April.
But man, when they finished "Fly From The Inside", they went apeshit with pyro and fireworks, i could hardly hear what Brent was saying.
YOB/NORSKA/CORMORANT/DEAD CANYON 9/18 at Rogue Bar, Scottsdale, AZ
Like I previously mentioned, this was one of the most solid shows I've ever been to. No act disappointed.
Dead Canyon (local) - Fucking brilliant. Very deserty (go figure), like Kyuss and Kylesa combined. Hopefully going to see them next month because they're playing a $3 show. 9/10
Cormorant - Awesome as expected. Their sound was very good too. Got one of their tour shirts as well. 9/10
Norska - A lot like Yob (they share a member), but with a much doomier vibe to them. Yob+Pallbearer is what I heard. 8.5/10
Yob - Incredible. They played a great set and it was definitely loud and filthy. 10/10
Got to the venue about an hour before doors. Hung out and found out that their was a very limited number of tickets left and before doors opened the show was sold out. Got inside realized I left all my money in my car. They had 5 shirt designs the ones with dates were $25 most of the others were $20. Make my way down to the floor and get right behind the rail where I found some Down V.I.P people bitching they left their spot and someone took it they got pissed and went up to the balcony. I was then met with a wave of shitfaced women who couldn't construct an sentence.
Child Bite- Some local hipster band. They were shit that is all
Haarp- I was pumped to see these guys I had listened to some of their songs before the show and knew it was gonna be sick. They came out didn't say one word and right into some fucking awesome doom metal. The singer was a fucking madman spending most of the set in the pit and throwing bottles everywhere. Musically it is some great Doom I recommend anyone into doom check these guys out. 8/10
Warbeast- I had listened to a couple songs before the show and was not impressed. To me they sounded like every other new wave of thrash band that has come out in the last 5 years. But live they are fucking awesome. Not much else to say but they kick ass live so check them out. 7/10
Down- Before they even came on it was getting tight up front it was apparent the show was sold out. They took forever to get on stage finally Phil comes on stage and starts talking and they go into Eyes Of The South and the crowd goes fucking insane. They sounded fucking tight and Phil is a fucking funny as hell guy. They played a shit ton off of NOLA they were suppose to play Hail The Leaf but that got cut because of time which sucks. All the new songs sounded phenomenal especially Misfortune Teller. Other songs that stood out were Pillars Of Eternity, New Orleans Is A Dying Whore, Losing All. It was a great fucking set and one of the best sets I have seen from a band. At the end they brought out all the bands to jam Bury Me In Smoke. Also Jimmy Bower fucked up on Temptation's Wings and Phil got everyone to chant Bower idk why but I found that funny as hell. 9.5/10
