What are your local urban legends and whatnot? in jersey we got the jersey devil. we even got a magazine dedicated to all things paranormal, creepy, local urban legends, and just plain weird called Weird NJ. its nothing new. i've been reading it since i was 15 (10 years ago). im sure you guys have heard of it. they also have been writing books for each state and they have another site called Weird US. theres a road called Clinton Rd. about 20 minutes from where i live that has been shown on the travel channel for one of their 'World's Creepiest Destinations' specials. ive been on that road, its pretty cool. i was watching Weird Travels the other day on the travel channel and to make a long story short i never knew that The Mothman legend originated in west virginia. anyone else into the paranormal and stuff?

We have the WV State Pen, the 200+ year old farmhouse, the old Ohio Pen, there is an old train tunnel with a story behind it in the middle of nowhere, Gettysburg isn't too far away either, ect. There used to be Dixmont State Hospital but stupid Walmart tore it down in hopes of putting a walmart there but were too stupid to realize they can't build ontop of all the underground tunnels..so they tore it down for nothing

I don't believe in paranormal stuff nearly as much as I used to, but it's still fun to talk about.

We have this one where if you park your car on these specific train tracks and honk your horn three times, the kids that died there will push your car off the tracks. They tell you to put powder on your windows to see hand prints. There's this other one where you're supposed to go to a bridge and do something and you can see the ghost of this guy crashing his motorcyle from way back in the 40's or something.

What's funny about the train track story, it seems it's everywhere. The same story is def in San Antonio and Austin

Yeah a lot of ghost stories are similar everywhere...only a few are specific to an area. How many abandoned insane asylum ghost stories are there? Pretty sure if anything was a loony bin at one point, there's a ghost story connected to it. Stock goes up when it's an old place that perfomed lobotomy.

Oh yeah. I've always wanted to go there. Coming back from Myrtly Beach in 08 we were like 20 miles from Weston. I wanted to go right then but we didn't have the gas or the money left to go

It's the same price at Waverly Hills in Louisville. At WV State Pen it's like 60. And they're so nice they give you pizza and pop

I work about 5 minutes from Bachelors Grove Cemetary, which is supposedly one of the most Haunted places in America.

someone was murdered in one of the rooms in my house. i had to saturate the floors in order to remove some old carpet padding. when i did, a shitload of blood came up out of the wood.

my girlfriend has no idea...and she sleeps in that room. :-"

just look at my "jersey" signature. the hotel to the left that looks like its from the old west is an abandoned hotel in nj thats supposedly haunted. the tower behind it is commonly called 'The Devil's Tower', theres a few urband legends tied to that. the factory next to it is actually right here in my home town. its abandoned but theres no ghost story tied to it. the building in the center, right up front, is the abandoned part of a mental hospital called 'Greystone', its not too far from where i live, and its supposedly haunted. and the building in the back, all the way to the right, is the 'Essex Mountain Sanitorium' which is abandoned and also supposedly haunted. all those buildings in my signature are in NJ.
