Idc about gateway bands. If the person wanted to get into metal I would just name off a bunch of bands that person can go listen to from pretty much all genres. I didn't even pick a band, I just picked a song

If someone who didnt listen to metal wanted to hear what sort of music I like, I wouldnt share with them any extreme metal bands. There is no point. They will respond with "that is awful!". So you gotta dumb it down and just stick to gateway bands so they can have an idea of why you like metal.
