Fuck it. It doesn't matter whether it's today or Thursday. It's going to be cancelled. Fuck this absolutely pointless labor dispute. At this point I hate that I love hockey so much because a big part of me wants to never devote another ounce of energy, time, or money towards this stupid league. But I'll be back... :-<
Thats the same way I feel. It was a lot easier to separate myself from it in 2004, when the Hawks were one of the worst teams in the league, but now that they are among the best it would be way more difficult to boycott it. I'd be back also if they ever get their shit together. :-S
Cancelling the Winter Classic has caused more of a sense of urgency, it seems. They met Tuesday and for 5.5 hours today and plan to talk again tomorrow. What's more, it sounds like they are actually negotiating the important parts of the CBA this time, like the revenue sharing....
If cancelling the Winter Classic was what was needed to save this season, so be it. They'll have the same matchup in 2014. They might end up playing the Pens in any shortened schedule, who knows.
The Winter Classic is stupid anyway, so its no big loss, so hell yeah I would sacrifice that to get the season going. That being said........not getting my hopes up. :-<
