Those are two separate interviews. in the first interview he said he was at 200 pounds. then when gall was asked about it he said he would be happy to take 20%. and then that quote you posted was from another interview after they told him what fall said.
I'm sure he wasn't being serious about it though. Either way I would not be shocked to see a guy who's never cut weight underestimate how tough it really is.
I mean it's a good gym but it's not one of the elite gyms. he's not really getting an advantage over gall in that aspect. I'm sure it's helped him a lot because he was a newbie though.
People just don't learn how to wrestle and strike properly in 18 months of training without actual experience in the cage though. And he's 38 years old, so fast can he really progress? He can spar all he wants and think he's prepared but its just not the same as experience.
