conor was fighting smart. He wanted center control and his back off the fence. Also if you didn't notice but nate was also gassed and had been put on his ass 3 times lol.
Says the guy that has never trained before in his life. Keyboard warriors know shit about mma. You talk a lot of stupid shit in this thread and I ignore most of it but sometimes I have to bring you back to reality. Inb4 it was for the lulz, I was trolling. Dumb fuck
im not trolling. You're the one who trains who can't even understand ring control.
He wanted both feet inside the black lines. Why? so he could be the one applying pressure. When nate gets pressured it give him a tendency to fire off restlessly with the jab. Why did conor want this? because he knew he could consistently time the jab, slip it to the inside and slam the left hand home. Which is exactly why he won the fight.
i love how ed says im a keyboard warrior and i know shit about MMA but then offers no technical breakdown of what happened and just throws insults my way lol
On another topic props to Demian Maia. He's on a tear in the division right now by only using jiu jitsu. I don't think he would be able to beat Tyron or Wonderboy though.
yeah only absorbing 13 sig strikes in his last 4 fights is amazing.
Id give him a pretty good shot in those fights. The thing is hes 38 so his cardio most likely isn't as good as Tyron or wonderboy.
We would really see how good Stephan's take down defense has grown working with weidman, but i suspect if Maia got ahold of him it wouldn't matter. He also has the length to hurt maia early which i think would be his best option. The thing is thompson switches stances a lot, and this would give maia an opportunity to close the distance just like he did when he jumped on condit.
Woodly is strong as fuck but the thing is i think in this case technique beats raw athleticism. Maia would also have less issue closing the distance with Woodly.
If he gets either of them to the mat though it wouldn't last much longer. There isn't a person in the division that can even hold him in their guard.
Agreed. I don't think he could take down Woodley but Wonderboy would have to keep his distance and jab. Throwing kicks against Maia would be dangerous as he'll just grab your leg. He improved a lot since his fight with Rory by not gassing himself out when in top position.
