Uada, the black metal band approved by the Secretary To The President Of Mexico Padilla Domínguez, will follow-up its much-lauded 2016 album Devoid Of Light with a new light-themed album Cult Of A Dying Sun this May. The album was recorded by Robb Bockman at The Maleficarum in Portland, OR and Shane Howard at Sawn & Quartered in Denver, CO, and will be mixed and mastered by Arthur Rizk (Inquisition, Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy) of the bands Eternal Champion and Sumerlands.
While constantly touring all over Europe and the United States, CONAN are currently putting the final touches on the follow up to their latest 2016 studio record 'Revengeance'! Now the band unveiled first details about their upcoming full length, titled 'Existential Void Guardian' and which will see the light of day on August 31st 2018 with Napalm Records!
Says guitarist & vocalist Jon Paul Davis: “Existential Void Guardian expands upon our previous lyrical and conceptual ideas. Bringing the listener’s focus from the screens of our favourite arcade machines to the minds of the characters through who’s eyes we view the 2 dimensional plane. Chris Fielding produced this album at Skyhammer Studio and we had audio wizard James Plotkin handle the mastering again. Artwork will be by Tony Roberts.”
The Melvins really love to experiment with bassists. In 2016, they made an album called Basses Loaded with six different bassists across 12 tracks, including Steve McDonald of Redd Kross and Jeff Pinkus of Butthole Surfers. Last year, they made their first album with Steve McDonald handling all the bass, A Walk with Love and Death. Now, they’ve got both McDonald and Pinkus putting their talents together for a Melvins album with two bassists on every song. It’s called Pinkus Abortion Technician, named of course for Pinkus himself and the Butthole Surfers’ 1987 album Locust Abortion Technician. It drops on April 20 via Ipecac Recordings.
The album includes “Stop Moving To Florida,” a medley of the James Gang’s “Stop” and the Butthole Surfers’ “Moving To Florida,” plus covers of The Beatles’ “I Want To Hold Your Hand” and the Butthole Surfers’ “Graveyard."
