Powerviolence/harsh noise sculptors, FULL OF HELL, have just confirmed a barrage of upcoming recording and tour plans, including new tours on both the North American and European continents, as well as a joint release with renowned noise metal architect, Merzbow.
Following up their 2013-released sophomore LP, Rudiments Of Mutilation, and recently-released split LP with Integrity's Dwid Hellion and his experimental/noise outfit Psywarfare, this Summer, FULL OF HELL will continue to explore their more caustic noise heredity by recording a fully collaborative recording with Japan's longtime lord of noise/electronics, Merzbow. The album will see vinyl release in North America via A389 Recordings, a European vinyl release via Stab/Repeat Records, and CD/digital delivery via Profound Lore Records. Additional details on this undoubtedly demoralizing recording will be available upon its imminent studio creation in the coming months.
Little Rock, AR doom metal band PALLBEARER have completed work on their follow-up to 2012’s acclaimed “Sorrow and Extinction” LP. Entitled “Foundations Of Burden”, the sophomore release sees the present-day doom metal giants create a more expansive, advanced, crushing, and emotionally charged album that takes everything to the next level beyond its predecessor.
With “Foundations Of Burden”, PALLBEARER have delivered their most engaging work yet. Musically, “Foundations Of Burden” sees the band strengthen their monolithic melodious structures of doom that have become synonymous with their signature sound. All while incorporating a much more progressive and musically challenging scenario to their anthems which compliment the huge epic melodies and harmonics even more. Whereas “Sorrow and Extinction” expanded the foundation which PALLBEARER laid down with their demo, “Foundations Of Burden” morphs itself into a glorious new vision that will see the band rise even more to promising new heights beyond the awareness brought upon them with “Sorrow and Extinction”.
Recorded and mixed by Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Sleep, Agalloch, The Melvins etc.) at Type Foundry Studios in Portland, OR, tracklisting for “Foundations Of Burden” goes as follows:
Worlds Apart
Foundations
Watcher In The Dark
The Ghost I Used To Be
Ashes
Vanished

also anyone else think the new mastodon albums gonna be pretenious nd suck? sounds liek radio rock so far. The Hunter was great now their gonna release thsi? WHat the hell? Sell outs
There's no way a human being with half a brain could listen to the Hunter and think the new shit is too commercial. slip a screw in your toe nail and kick the wall.
I thought the hunter was a damn good album, not as good as the 3 before it but still good album. & the semi-radio friendly shit on their like curl of the burl & dry bone valley were actually good songs that had groove to them unlike fucking high road. nd the chimes on midnight song is generic and boring. if they have a proper follow-up cd to the hunter with GOOD songs that r ORIGINAL, theyll be coheadlining arenas within the end of the year
It just strikes me as a generic type song. Doesnt live up to what couldve been a great follow up or evolution to The Hunter. We'll see if its "Blood Mountain as fuck" in 3 weeks.
Also, anyone else hear the new Combichrist album? Whatd u guys think abt it? IMO not anywhere as good as the last + even tho the 1st single had an important message it didnt need the fucking autotune shit at th beginning but overall not a bad album 6.5/10 for them
Reunited Swiss technical thrash metal masters CORONER will soon begin working on material for a potential follow-up to the band's acclaimed last studio release, 1993's "Grin".
During an interview (hear audio below) with AndrewHaug.com, Australia's first-ever dedicated 24/7 rock and metal online radio station launched by Andrew Haug, the former host of Triple J Australia's "The Racket" radio show (originally "Full Metal Racket"; 2001-2011), CORONER guitarist Tommy Vetterli was asked if the band has any interest in putting out new music four years after the group announced its return to the metal scene. "Sure," he replied. "That's actually one of the reasons why [original CORONER drummer] Marky [Edelmann] wanted to leave the band."
He added: "I can't say when [a new studio album might arrive]. It's just what we want. But everybody's very busy, you know — me producing bands in the studio all the time. And after 'Grin', it's not easy to… If we do something, it has to be very good.
"We're gonna start to write songs and then see what happens. I don't know yet [how it will turn out]."
CORONER last month announced the addition of drummer Diego Rapacchietti to the group's ranks. The band said in a statement: "Diego is an accomplished and innovative drummer. He has played in bands PAGANINI, VENTURIA, 69 CHAMBERS, and many more. Diego also has extensive experience as a studio drummer for various projects."
Rapacchietti made his live debut with CORONER on May 29 at Salzhaus in Winterthur, Switzerland. He then joined his new bandmates on their first Australian tour ever, which kicked off on June 5 in Melbourne.
