I agree some of their stuff has an uplifting sound, but the overall tone of the band is more melancholie to me.
Maube I just look for that more. Like the lyrics from "Somehow..." Something about them sticks out to me.
"Grey visions of today Every sight the same I can not break free I think I'm gone As though I never wake Always drawn into descent And my hope decays, just out of reach
Cursed through life & condemned to misery To be left with nothing...
If only for a moment; a way out To see the faintest glimmer amongst the dark To mend the broken dawn so bleak Somehow I think I'm gone
But like ashes to the wind i will fade Nameless and Forgotten The thorn upon the withered rose Somehow I always knew..."
Lionize isn't even news. Dudes have been taking forever. Smoked a J with the keyboard player and be kept talking about "man we just want to prove to everybody that we're more than a live band" which surprised me because I love their shit on album. Definitely worse cases than them
The highly anticipated full-length album from LA's SILVER SNAKES, Year Of The Snake, is slated for a March 4th release on CD, LP and digital formats through Bridge Nine Records. The album, which features some of the band's darkest and most dynamic material yet, was recorded at Silver Snakes' guitarist Alex Estrada's studio The Earth Capital (Nails, Touche Amore, Joyce Manor). Year Of The Snake was then mixed at Salad Days Studios with Brian McTernan (Cave In, Engine Down, Circa Survive) and mastered by Jay Maas at Getaway Recording (Defeater); the resulting 11 songs are massive in scope and some the band's best material ever.
As they gear up for the release of Year Of The Snake, Silver Snakes will canvas the United States in March with The Ocean, Scale the Summit and The Atlas Moth - check out all tour dates below. If you haven't picked up Silver Snakes 'Sundance' EP, grab one here. More info and track premieres coming soon.
