AP and Johnson are incredible and will still make big #s regardless if the o line is shit or not.

AP has freakish gift of power running and lightning speed. He will truck anyone's ass that is in front of him and explode with speed. To call him overrated is idk weird seeing as he has shown nothing but great things and #s.

Chris Johnson is another one that has amazing talent. No matter what the guy will bring you big #s. He's speed is incredible and his ability to poke through the tiniest hole in the o line and then explode for like 40+ yards is something not a lot of RB can do. His low center of gravity makes it impossible for someone to tackle or catch. His ability to make a cut then explode for speed is just mind blowing. CJY2K is a great RB and you should get him if he is there.

yeah... Marc didn't like what I had to say about AP and CJ. I was wondering where he thought they would land. I think he is crazy if he thinks CJ is more then a 1300 yard 10TD back.

Okay. Then how do you explain their lack of production last year?

Note - for a traditional fantasy STUD RB, I call 1300 yards 10 TD's not a STUD. A STUD should be getting you 1700 yards 17 TD's Minimum on the season. Neither AP nor CJ are going to get that.

Double Note - I agree AP is an amazing talent. Probably the best back in the game right now. However... a chaotic team and new coaching isnt going to translate to an increase in his production.

    1. Chris Johnson had a thigh injury and fucked him for like 4 games and AP had a Knee and ankle injury. Those are what made them have a lack of production last season.

    2. No 2 RB or more have had a 1700 yard season in the same season since 2006. So you have to throw that "logic" of what a real RB stud is out the window. Defenses are a lot faster and quicker now then they were back then. For over 3 years CJ and AP have been the top RB's in the NFL and are more then capable of getting that 1700 or more with the gift they have.

1300 yards and 10 td is a pretty damn productive year...this is now a passing league...but yeah i would take those numbers for my to pick

I admit I dont follow the Titans that closely, however CJ played every game last season. If he had a "thigh injury" then perhaps he shouldnt have been playing on it.

AP played every game except the fantasy superbowl. Both CJ and AP did manage to play good against the shit teams though.

Regardless what we are talking about here is fantasy STUDS. Like How Priest Holmes was back in 2001-2004. LT was after that... guys you knew were going to get your team 100 more fantasy points then the next closest RB. That is really all I am saying... as Rex pointed out, the league has shifted over to more of a passing offense, and fantasy RB's suffer.

    MEGA POST
here... read this article and watch this video and tell me how as a hawk fan I can't get too excited about this
    http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=As4X9Fltz66ekhTbAL28TX85nYcB?slug=ms-silver_hawks_give_tarvaris_legit_shot_080711
fucking writers... always fooling me into thinking there is more there then there really is.
As a writer, it's very, very difficult to differentiate between your own logical processes as an evaluator and your own rationalizations as a fan. I've realized this since I started writing for BleacherReport. The Seahawks are probably one of my favorites to win the Luck sweepstakes for a few reasons.

One of them being the most obvious and overspeculated one, the starting quarterback. When you have a sub 5/10 QB, your team is going to be bad, it's just a matter of how bad. Tavaris Jackson has never demonstrated the arm strength, work ethic, accuracy, or anything that you want from your starting quarterback. Sidney Rice was never truly effective with Jackson under center, and his only year where he truly lived up to his potential was the lone good post-GB Favre year. I'd keep my playoff predictions to myself for that reason alone, because I truly believe that the Seahawks have the worst QB situation in the NFC West. That says a lot.

The second and perhaps the most under the radar reason is that defense (primarily the front seven), which is starting to concern me. With exception to resigned Mebane and Earl Thomas, I probably wouldn't feel comfortable starting any of their defensive starters. Catch me in a good mood and I'll say Clemons would be okay, but he has to prove to me that he can become a more consistent presence on the end.

The third is the coaching. Pete Carrol had an abysmal year as a coach of the Seahawks, it's just a matter of how you see it. They won games, relatively speaking, but they still made costly coaching mistakes. He was brave when he should have been conservative and often times only squeezed by due to the futility of the other teams (ie 49ers and Saints).
AP - love the dude. Hate Minnesota. I wont get him because I am not willing to spend the first 3 picks to get him. He is overrated because of the chaos of the team.

chris johnson - like him but 2009 was a fluke year that gave him those stats cause his line was doing so much work for him. Johnson is a 1300 yard 10 TD guy. Is that worth a top 3 pick? Im not so sure.

foster - something tells me to be wary. I keep hearing fluke, but I also would probably draft him.
AP is getting injured for at least 5 games this year, I call it. They'll overwork him because McNabb will fail and they don't have any other redeemable part of that team.

CJ - Best running back in the NFL. However, his holding out right now should concern you, because not reporting to camp today means he won't get another year towards free agency. He's serious. His holdout could be Crabtree length. Even if he returns by week 1, I would downgrade him because of time out of camp.

Foster - Be wary. That's all I have to say.

The First ESPN power rankings are out

1 (9) Packers 10-6 While other teams stockpiled free agents, the Packers stood pat. Are the defending champs still preseason favorites? (Walker)
2 (1) Patriots 14-2 Too bad "Hard Knocks" couldn't film the daily Albert Haynesworth-Chad Ochocinco show. (Clayton)
3 (7) Eagles 10-6 Only one thing will make this season a success -- winning the franchise's first Vince Lombardi Trophy. (Fox)
4 (5) Saints 11-5 Saints will find out whether Reggie Bush was an underrated contributor after all. (Sando)
5 (3) Steelers 12-4 With off-field distractions behind them, the reigning AFC champs are focused on getting back to the Super Bowl. (Walker)
6 (2) Falcons 13-3 Adding Ray Edwards quiets draft-day criticisms about ignoring pass rush. (Sando)
7 (8) Jets 11-5 So far, they have replaced Braylon Edwards, Jerricho Cotchery and Brad Smith with only Plaxico Burress and Derrick Mason. (Clayton)
8 (10) Colts 10-6 Provided Peyton Manning is healthy, don't write off the Colts. They have healed up and even added outsiders. (Kuharsky)
9 (4) Ravens 12-4 The Ravens can go as far as fourth-year QB Joe Flacco is willing to take them. (Walker)
10 (14) Chargers 9-7 Every year looks promising, then they wind up short of expectations. It's time for Philip Rivers to be grouped with the elite. (Kuharsky)
11 (12) Giants 10-6 Missing the playoffs for a second consecutive year is not an option for Tom Coughlin. (Fox)
12 (13) Buccaneers 10-6 It starts with the quarterback, and Tampa Bay has a good one in Josh Freeman. (Sando)
13 (6) Bears 11-5 The loss of longtime center Olin Kreutz will hurt Chicago's running game. (Walker)
14 (11) Chiefs 10-6 Big breakthroughs are often followed by a step back. Can the Chiefs buck that trend? (Kuharsky)
15 (17) Rams 7-9 Sam Bradford, Josh McDaniels a compelling combination for the Rams. (Sando)
16 (18) Cowboys 6-10 It will be interesting to see Rob Ryan's effect on the Cowboys' defense. (Fox)
17 (21) Texans 6-10 Always a darling preseason pick. Could it be the year? Sure. Could it be another failure with people getting fired? Sure. (Kuharsky)
18 (24) Lions 6-10 The Lions have "sleeper" written all over them, but only if quarterback Matthew Stafford stays healthy. (Walker)
19 (19) Seahawks 7-9 Sidney Rice, Zach Miller give Seattle needed weapons in passing game. (Sando)
20 (20) Titans 6-10 Don't buy that they will be contenders for Andrew Luck. Mike Munchak will squeeze something out of the Titans. (Kuharsky)
21 (28) Cardinals 5-11 Kevin Kolb's arrival restores hope at quarterback, but time will tell whether Kolb's the answer. (Sando)
22 (16) Jaguars 8-8 Defense will be better for sure. The question is whether David Garrard can play with consistency. (Kuharsky)
23 (15) Raiders 8-8 The Raiders are on the rise if Jason Campbell can play consistently. You have to like Hue Jackson's energy. (Kuharsky)
24 (22) Dolphins 7-9 If the Dolphins can't get Brett Favre to challenge Chad Henne, maybe they can ask Dan Marino. (Clayton)
25 (23) Vikings 6-10 Minnesota actually got younger at quarterback by acquiring 34-year-old Donovan McNabb. (Walker)
26 (25) 49ers 6-10 Widespread changes on defense raise questions about 49ers' short-term prospects. (Sando)
27 (29) Broncos 4-12 I fear the first year of the John Fox regime will be a long, ugly one filled with Tim Tebow-related controversy. (Kuharsky)
28 (27) Browns 5-11 If QB Colt McCoy isn't the answer, it will be another long season in Cleveland. (Walker)
29 (26) Redskins 6-10 In a few more weeks, Mike Shanahan might wish he had kept Donovan McNabb. (Fox)
30 (32) Panthers 2-14 Carolina came out swinging in free agency, but future hinges on Cam Newton. (Sando)
31 (30) Bills 4-12 The Bills' offensive line can't afford an injury, but it would look better had it added Tyson Clabo. (Clayton)
32 (31) Bengals 4-12 The Bengals are moving on from the Carson Palmer-Chad Ochocinco era, but expect plenty of growing pains with young players. (Walker

I'd rather have them underrate us than overrate us. We still have to win games.

    Rams > Lions.

You can't blame them for that ranking list though. It's similar to what I'd do. No way in hell I'd put Patriots at 2, Falcons at 6 or Saints at 4, but yeah, it's good.

The preseason starts tomorrow, guys. This has been a long time coming.
