You have no basis to make that claim. Perhaps I am naive on some topics, however having a differing of opinion on an athlete hardly qualifies. Especially considering that view is a very common opinion and I provided proof of that.
lol my statement still stands but I am very pleased you listened to him, what did u listen to and how did you like it?
brady will go down as one of the best 3 QB of all time, hes the most clutch in control player ive ever witnessed and an exceptional leader and this is all coming from an avid patriot hater and brady hater
a few years ago, the browns surprisingly won 10 games and ppl were happeh.
then they went out and traded for shawn rogers and signed a bunch of free agents and ppl were happeh.
around the same time, the detroit tigers made the world series. they were awesome. ppl were happeh.
while they were already good, they went out and traded for miguel cabrera and dontrelle willis. made people pretty happeh.
the lakers were pretty good back in the early 00's. ppl were happeh.
they lost one year, so management went out and got karl malone and gary payton. ppl were supah happeh.
the phillies won a world series a few years ago. hoods was happeh.
then they went and traded for cliff lee. then they traded for roy halladay. then they traded for roy oswalt. then they bought cliff lee back. hoods was supah happeh.
my point?
while all of these teams loaded up on star players to go with what was already a good team, none of them achieved the success that it was assumed they would achieve. the browns and lakers fell apart soon thereafter. the tigers have been mediocre since their series run and the phillies seemed to accomplish more when they featured jamie moyer as a third starter.
the heat did it and didn't win. the yankees did it every year through the 00's and only got 1 ring out of it. last years jets team. the patriots with randy moss.
so...why should anyone believe that the eagles are just gonna run out of the gate and stomp everyone?

:-)) That is too fucking funny. I would say the Patriots might be my #3 fav team or they are at least in my top 5. And I would say that I very much like Tom Brady. I have a lot of Envy for someone like Brady... The dude dates really hot women, won a few SB's, has major bank, has a great image. If I was changing places with an NFL star, it would probably be him.
Yet-I think the opposite about his leadership skills and wouldnt consider him one of the greatest of all time because I think the role of a QB is to be that leader. Since I view Brady as just being a product of the NE system, and following the plays called into him, that diminishes my views on him as being one of the greats of all time.

i can understand the system point of view, but that really doesnt explain how good he was so early in his nfl career. he obv couldnt have had the patriot system down that well that fast...he was playing on complete talent and leadership.... alot of his qb characteristics shows signs of a true leader, he doesnt get rattled, he stays focus, he has the respect of his team and coach, and preforms well under difficult situations..isnt that what a good leader is?? i think your trying to hard to make a point to against the grain and are ignoring key facts to get there

hmmm good point. And I agree that team chemistry and having a solid game plan is probably two of the most important aspects of being a successful team. I agree that just trowing money at high profile players doesnt guarantee a championship.... But I do think it can help. If you get high impact players, who will integrate into the team, and play their part to the best of their abilities, then I believe the the results will be positive.
I'm not saying the Eagles are a sure lock for the SB (I know I said they were but that was just boasting because I like the Eagles), but I do think they are almost the front runners this year. But when the playoffs come around, anything can happen. Even a 7-9 Seahawk team can beat the defending Superbowl champions. That is the great thing about the playoffs....
I guess next time my teams go out and sign the best players available, I'll be pissed instead of happy. 8-|
btw, after last night the Phils are up on the Braves by 7 games, I said they would win the division by 10, I stick to my story.
there's a pretty clear precedent that teams that go out and "load up" are usually underwhelming. hard to say why.
and i'm not really worried about the braves. they've been hurt and/or underachieving all year. i think they said that they've only been able to use the opening day lineup 11 times out of the 115 or so games this season. and they're still in range for the division and are owning the wild card. what's not to like?

How do you explain Cassel performance when Brady got injured? And how do you explain Cassel's lack of production the following year in KC?
To answer your question- I believe NE's system was simple and requires little work for a QB to come up to speed. I don't think anyone can do it. You've gotta have an arm, you've gotta keep your emotions in control, you've gotta trust your coach and your team and do what is expected of you.... I'm really not trying to discredit all Brady has done. He is talented and I give him kudos for all he did... But if I was building a team from scratch, I would not choose him as my QB.
Currently playing QB's that I think are better then Tom Brady (not necessarily in order but close) 1. Peyton Manning 2. Michael Vick. 3. Aaron Rogers 4. Tony Romo 5. Drew Brees
I'd probably list Tom Brady as following that pack. And if I was listing all time then he falls even further. Hall of famer? No doubt. Greatest ever? Not in my opinion.

how is winning 5 championships since the early 2000 not acheiving there desired success?? sounds pretty good to me......

I like to think the reason for that is the superstars start slacking off because they think other stars will pick up the slack. Or maybe it is their pockets become too heavy with money to have any real desire to play anymore?

edit - would have said so in the yo nola thread, but the search is broken on this site. =\
