:-? i actually don't think it is that bad of an idea...i don't think it would change things that much except make it more realistic for a team to get the ball back when down nearing the end of a game...id say your chances are slightly better at a 4th and 15 then an onside kick

Football Outsiders did a really good piece on it, I just don't like it. It makes so much of the game's history incomparable with modern football, and that's half of the fun of it.

yeah i agree...im just of the stance that something needs to be done with the kickoffs...after they moved it forward it is just almost like an automatic touch back...its annoying especially with the way they do commercials now...team scores..kick extra point/commercial/kickoff.. touch back/another commercial...they should just move it back to where it was or make a rule where if you field the ball you have to run it out or something
Not me. I don't know if its because most of the games you see are in domes or what but they run it out a lot more than expected during the bengals games and most other outdoor games I watch
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!
Dolphins players upset Patriots repeated same play
The New York Jets are the AFC East team that prays at the altar of "ground and pound," but it was the New England Patriots who used that philosophy to finish off the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
The Patriots ran the ball 13 out of 16 plays on their game-icing, field goal drive in a 23-16 win, repeatedly finding success with runs over the left guard. That repetitiveness bothered some Dolphins players.
"It really (ticked) me off," reserve tackle Tony McDaniel said, according to The Palm Beach Post. "It was disrespectful to us to run the same play over and over and be successful.
"Normally when somebody's driving down the field you just think, 'Well, they just had a good run there,' but you run the same play over and over, as a competitor that (ticks) me off."
"It is disrespectful," tackle Randy Starks agreed, "but you've got to stop it. We never stopped it, so I'd keep running the same play, too."
