Not sure who was saying what, but the fact is that Ozzy can't hold a candle to Bruce live, they (Sharon's people) kept fucking with Maiden throughout the tour, cutting power and other unprofessional shit, recording prior and piping in Ozzy chants after IM played their set etc. Maiden basically powered through it all and then never said much about it because they aren't whiny cunts.
I'm pretty certain that Maiden were still selling out equal sized, and sometimes even bigger arenas, much more consistently than Sabbath until their last tour.
When Sabbath played Tampa a couple years back they played the amphitheatre, nearly sold out but not fully. Maiden have sold out the Amway Arena in the same city, almost twice as much capacity.
