wow. I'm thinking you have a very very shitty lawyer. I knew a drug addict, who murdered his ex wife, murdered his ex wifes boyfriend, and fled from the police for miles and miles.... he got off scott free.

I'm still not getting you. Okay... So I don't know where you live, but I kind a of assume that UP in your username stands for Upper Peninsula. I'm not a lawyer or anything but the law there states
(4) If any of the following apply, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 1 year or a fine of not more than $2,000.00 or 3 times the value of the property stolen, whichever is greater, or both imprisonment and a fine: (a) The property stolen has a value of $200.00 or more but less than $1,000.00.
So you primary crime is a misdemeanor... not even a felony. But then you try and "escape" being captured for a misdemeanor, and they want to tact on 7 years to the maximum possible sentence?
I feel like I could have gotten you off with a year at most just by showing the judge a printout of the law. Did you have a jury?
