"With the victor come the spoils" or something like that lol history I'd always written by the victorious party and always paints them in a better light. lile I said tho , regardless of his personal beliefs, due to his actions hundreds of thousands of people were freed that were once in chains and that is something you can't minimize
I honestly don't think he was in as much of a pickle as you might think. Yes the abolitionist movement was growing in the north, but it was still a fractional, almost grass roots campaign. Like Lincoln , most northerners didn't give a fuck about black people and were still also very racist. As you saw when the north initiated the war draft, riots and opposition were massive due to the fact that most northerners didn't give enough fucks to even want to fight the war .. And this was back when fighting in a war was looked at as like an honor and a privilege
this might be true. hard to really know unless you were there.

Yes, I know of John Brown.... His death was probably one of the biggest incidents that increased awareness and tension over the issue of slavery. He was a martyr who gave his life trying to free slaves.
True , did you read the part about all the shit it stirred in the south? Basically a very small; fractional, radical group pretty much scared the entire south lol Lincoln could've actively spoke out against this type of activity once he became president and still be in good standing with the majority of northerners .. I don't know, I feel like Lincoln, if his only goal was preservation, could have done alottt more shit to at the very least delay the civil war from happening.. And he did not really at all

I'm not sure Lincoln wanted to delay the war... I kinda feel even before being elected that he believed war with the south over slavery was inevitable. If someone said Lincoln was war hungry- I wouldnt disagree. I probably wouldnt make that statement though, although without thinking about it much I think it might be closer to truth. Sic semper tyrannis
I knew this was coming when Lincoln got mentioned )
In my head, I was like "And Wake in 5, 4, 3, 2..."
) yeah yeah... You got me. I can't help it. Lincoln is a pet peeve of mine. Just be thankful he didnt mention Jefferson or I'd have to jiz all over this thread.
Worst president of all time. Sic semper tyrannis. Lincoln represent the first major departure from the country that our founding fathers implemented. ie... one where the government had limited scope and was for the people, to one that is big central corrupt government put in place to decide how people should live their lives for them. Our current political climate is 100% the direction Lincoln wanted us to go, and is 100% the opposite of everything Thomas Jefferson hoped our country would be. The only president that is probably worse than Lincoln is maybe FDR. Im not sure what president I hate more between the two....

For anyone who cares, here's my interview with Primitive Man. It got a little weird towards the end, but they were some of the coolest dudes to talk too.

asked Siri - "What is 0 divided by 0" and here was her response
“Imagine that you have zero cookies and you split them evenly among zero
friends. How many cookies does each person get? See? It doesn’t make
sense. And Cookie Monster is sad that there are no cookies, and you are
sad that you have no friends.”
