All this political talk, just curious, did anyone else listen to Mark Maron's podcast with Obama? He actually covered a lot of what has been part of the discussion here.
Abe Lincoln lived in a log cabin dirt poor in bum fuck Illinois .. He eventually freed the slaves and impacted millions if lives and the rest of time as we know it.. Gtfo here with that nothing can change bullshit
Technically he didn't free a single slave. The emancipation proclamation only changed black peoples status from "slave" to "free" in states where slavery was already outlawed. Additionally Lincoln was quoted several times as saying he didn't care about slavery, but only cared about preventing the south from succeeding from the union (which they had a legal right to do IMHO and I kinda wished they had because fuck the south). Here is a very famous Lincoln quote :
"If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, I would do it, and
if I could save it by freeing all the slaves, I would do it, and if I
could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone, I would also do
that."
I totally understand that this is 100% besides the point you were making. But I would implore you to stop giving Lincoln credit for being an abolitionist when he was most certainly not.

Also... When you said he impacted millions of lives... I assume you mean he impacted them by starting an illegal war against the south, implementing forced Conscription (which is just another word for slavery imho), and then having millions of Americans die in the illegal war he started.
Note - illegal war because war technically requires a declaration by congress. Lincoln setup illegal block-aids of southern ports without a declaration of war, he ignored supreme court orders to show up in court and explain his illegal actions, and caused the most violent war the USA has ever seen... And for what? To save the cotton fields of the south? Fuck the south.
- didn't free a single slave - slaves went from slave to free upon his signature - full retard
incorrect. It was only valid in non-confederate controlled areas where slavery was already illegal. If anything it was a political beacon to affirm to slaves in the south, that if they could escape, and get to the north, then they would be free.... However that was already the case! because slavery was already illegal in the north. It's like if the Governor of Georgia just passed a new law today that made Gay Marriage legal in Georgia. You'd be like "Da-fuck? It's already legal!" That's the same thing Lincoln did. It was a political statement just meant to further his own agenda of preventing the south from succeeding from the union.
