New Vegas has been fun as hell but rough around the edges, even more so than FO3. Mission markers are innacurate more often than not and there's no ability to set one to a specific objective.
I still havent played through every Fallout, but after playing Fallout 1 (havent finished, but Im far enough to have a grasp of the game), and watching some videos breaking down the franchise its apparent that Bethesda doesnt capture the heart and soul of what makes Fallout, Fallout. New Vegas captured that essence again for the post Interplay era.

I believe that is on purpose. Up until a few years ago objective markers in a lot of RPGs used to be vague guidelines to get to a new mission, not GPS coordinates. You had to actually explore.
Hell, in (i think) Morrowind there were no objective markers for side quests at all. If you prompted a sidequest it would give you some dialogue and a general direction to the location.
I loved New Vegas. I loved that there were more civilizations and factions. I thought it vastly improved over 3. Now don't get me wrong I fucking love 3 but the stupidly vast amount tunnel travel made it feel like you were seeing the same thing over and over. It's a big map but there wasn't alot to see. As far as open world and improved locations, New Vegas definitely has the edge. I was a little more absorbed in the story for 3 and the segment where you enter the old timey neighborhood in black and white was infinitely dope, but overall NV >>>>. Will say though, I did prefer when your companions died just because it made for some actual consequence and stakes. With the exception of Fawkes though, NV even has the edge in that field. Overall, imo NV>>3>>>>>>>>>4 as far as new Fallout games.
Fuuuck though I'll never forget walking out of the vault in Fallout 3. I remember being kinda shell shocked at the concept of an open world game like that. GTA was out, but Fallout just felt massive
Completely agree. 3 is still amazing. My buddies had previously played it and I had to keep calling them for hints because I was so overwhelmed lmao I remember I couldn't figure out the weight thing and couldn't figure out why I was moving so slowly all of a sudden and wanted to quit ) Fallout had literally been one of the best gaming experiences of my life.
Im on the second to last level on Cuphead. Its a boss rush. Was hard at first, but the individual bosses are actually really easy once the patterns are down... But then I get to King Dice, and I cant time the multi parries for shit
Jesus christ dude. I didn't think you were that far down
Dude look at the gaming/geek world right now. Who is showcased in cosplay videos? Hot chicks. Who rules Twitch? Hot chicks and boobie streamers. Who runs most of these geek news shows now? Hot chicks. The cool dudes and hot chicks who made fun of us and thought we were lame are now ruling the industry. And they still want nothing to do with us. They're just stealing our spotlight and molding the industry to better suit their interests. I get the frustration.
