You could always check ebay. I think Razor mentioned discogs.com it looks pretty fucking sweet, I have yet to use it though. Also Amazon surprisingly sells a lot of vinyls.
This is a NZ site but could be worth a look as I have visited the store and they sell a heap of new, used and collectors vinyl and I'm sure they would ship to you (or I could ship to you)

stuff that your dad likes can probably be found at places like used book stores and goodwills for cheap. i find tons of vinyl at places like that. everything from rare ray charles .45s to subhumans lps
I usually get quite a bit of Best Buy money for Xmas. Depending on what I get, I may be able to put some aside for a new player in addition to my new car radio :-?
