I don't get your criteria for judging music, man. Even if we're talking originality Mastodon didn't really start having their own sound until Leviathan. Trendfag
I like riffs. Remission has some of their best and heaviest riffs. Since when are riffs trendy? You will never not be a noob when it comes to this shit
I could have swore i read an interview during production that the original composer left and the new one scrapped everything
They composed the music. What happened was the movie was terrible, so the studio had it re-edited. When they did that, a significant portion of the music had to be reworked to match the new scenes. I have both versions

Bruh you were shitting on me for listing remission low and you have a tendency to gravitate towards more underground/gritty recordings for the sake of themselves.
You can be condescending all you want, but don't dish it if you can't take it
March Of The Fire Ants was the first Mastodon song i ever heard, and it's still my favorite. The first four albums are all incredible in their own ways, imo. The Hunter isn't the best but it's got solid as fuck riffs. I'm fairly certain OMRTS is unanimously their weakest release, but it still doesn't suck by any means. I'm really liking EOS aside from one single they released.
