Because I didn't always feel like this. I was once young like you too and very idealistic. But through the years as I have watched myself, my wife, my kids, and my friends change; I realized that probability that two people change over a decade in ways that remain in perfect compatibility is low IMHO. I've noticed this not only with my wife but with friends... Are you still super good friends with the people you were best friends with when you were 9? I get that's an extreme example but it is how I feel now.
i don't have any regrets for what I have done in the past because in the past they were the right decisions made at the time. Now a days though if I were to get a divorce I don't think I'd ever remarry. Not because of my wife or my first marriage, but because of this concept I just explained about people changing. I don't need government to tell me my relationship is official. Fuck marriage, no point

No, I'm not friends with the people I was bffs with when I was 9. Because we had different classes, ended up friends with different people, my music tastes evolved, then we went to hs and it progressed. The only bff I had left in hs I cut ties with because I got tired of her pointless compulsive lying.
But that's not the same as a relationship you're in where you both truly love each other. That sucks that shit just falls apart with everyone you know. But life has shown me things differently. And that's the thing with people, they change. Only difference is when you're in a relationship with someone you love, through those changes you find new ways to fall in love with them. There's also no such thing as perfect compatibility. It takes two people to make a relationship last a lifetime. If one of them gives up, doesn't put much of any effort into it, etc the whole thing falls apart.
When it comes to your situation you probably should have never married anyone.
Outside of romantic comedies, couples that accidentally have a baby almost never end up together happily ever after.
