That reminds me of when i worked at the mall at like 16.
Manager: Hey can you come in? Me: i ride the bus so i wouldnt get there until like an hour before close anyway. Manager: I can come pick you up. I can be there in like 20 minutes. Me: ............................nah
one time some jawn at subway called and asked if i could work for her and i said no well then the manager called me and asked if i could work for that chick
Not even trying to hate, but your singing is ehhhhh. Especially when you consider how much your flow has improved over the past year or whatever and sounds better with every song. Then you sing and it just makes it sound kind of amateur-ish. Your flow and your singing aren't at the same level. It wasnt as noticeable on The Pilot because from what i heard you mostly sang low notes (i cant remember song names for an example) but with this sample you can tell a lot more. It just doesnt sound quite right.
I understand you're trying and shit, which is cool I can't knock you on that. But i'd think about getting someone to do guest vocals for you. Or if you're set on being a double threat, start taking lessons.

Nah I feel you, basically it's like this. A: This is my ballsiest singing track, it's within my range, but it's very hard for me to hit, it took me an hour to get a good take. B: All the other singing tracks on there are real mellow and soft singing and not belting out like this. C: Recording takes months anyways due to money. I actually just got down the proper singing technique wit the diaphragm 2 weeks ago. I been practicing an hour daily. So my plan is to knock out all the rapping tracks first, and save everything as far as singing for the very last. That way, I'll have 4-6 months of practicing proper technique under my belt. I can already sing all my shit decently, but it's lacking that power and clarity from using proper technique. This isn't final, I just recorded this at home, as stated, it's just a teaser to kinda show where this mixtape is headed as far as sound. The final one will be recorded at an actual studio in 4-5 months.
Here, this is some raw singing. No effect, no beat, not even a mic, recorded it wit my phone. You can hear the technique is there, I go flat here and there and I'm working on that, but my singing has already come a long way. And this is just recently learning the diaphragm technique. Song ain't mine btw, it's Hotel by JMSN.
