The truth is that she spent most of her teen years in either jail or rehab and her mother left a pretty decent guy. Amanda got out of rehab and ended up getting dragged home by the cops after they found her at some hotel passed out in a pool of her vomit the day after she got out. The husband was like "it's her or me", so Amanda's mom dipped and took her to Alabama to stay with some weirdo she met online. Amanda got drunk and burned that guys house down, so they were homeless and she was bouncing between different drug houses when she got pregnant. She married him because she liked him, but he was one of those big belt buckled southern conservatives that wouldn't let her do drugs. So as soon as their daughter was born, she disappeared with the bass player from his band, who sent the husband a porno of them in an email. The video got used in court to initially get their daughter in the husbands custody. Then the aforementioned story happened. It took me most of 5 years to piece it all together because her mother lies for her. Tbh, there's prolly more that I'll never know about because even those stories have been subject to change.
I actually can not think of a single reason why anyone should ever get married. Give me a single positive reason why marriage is better then just "being in a committed relationship with someone". I'm not 100% on this, but I am pretty sure you can get both health insurance and file taxes together as a 'married couple', without technically getting married. There is probably minimum cohabitation time that has to be met for the relationship to get to that stage. Satan probably knows the answer to this. I never really looked into it but often times think that it would have been a better route. Im not so much anti-marriage, but really more anti-gov. I don't see why getting the gov involved in my personal relationship is any benefit to anyone.

She left me during months 4-8 of her pregnancy with my son and tried to extort me for a car and house and my dad went to one of her court hearings and almost got her locked up. After that, she kinda got shocked into being submissive. I let her move back in with me when she was 9 months because she burned her bridges and was getting evicted from the 3rd place she moved after leaving me. It was important to me for my son to be born in Atlanta and not raggedy ass Alabama. I took care of her at first because she was cheaper than paying for childcare. That's no lie. The relationship just evolved from there because we were stuck together. We did love each other for a while. It wasn't until she started working and got surrounded by fuckups that everything fell apart. I actually told my dad the day she found out she got her job at Buffalo Wild Wings last year that it would end up causing conflict. She's a bottom feeder. Her and her mother both have this crazy fear of being judged, so to compensate they will hang out with nothing but people who are more fucked up than they are so they don't have to feel inferior. It's actually really embarrassing to see her in a room full of smart people because even though she isn't a moron, she usually makes a jackass outta herself because of her nerves. She came home from work one day and told me her manager had given her a shift drink at the end of the night. I was a square about it (cuz I had to be) and reminded her that she didn't need to go down that path. I'm fairly certain that conversation was the beginning of what I'm going through now cuz since I wasn't down with her being a drunk, she hid it from me so I wouldn't judge her and immediately dove into a group of people that wouldn't judge her no matter how fucked up she got because they were all fuckups too.
