I've put in applications to 15 different places in the past 2 weeks and still have heard nothing after multiple phone calls, and going into the places to talk to the managers.
I'm a little late to the resume party, but I'd like to throw in my two cents. Just to give you a background, I happen to be pretty good at writing resumes. A marketing teacher I took for several classes (5-6 to be exact) recommended me on my campus to the English department that ran a Resume Help Center and they approached me to bring me on board. I accepted and gained valuable experience communicating with employers to gain their thoughts on resume formats, hot words to use to describe your roles, what is too much or too little, etc. My resume has essential fucked me at times because I've lost count of the "over-qualified" excuse I've been given but it has been given praise due to format and thoroughness.
That being said, I think everyone is right in some sense here, but Jobe (in my opinion) was the most for the following reason: All of us here are about at that point where we are leaving behind the fast food, the grocery store, etc. and are going to pursue a CAREER. His example of how it will look in a stack of others hit it on the head for a CAREER position you seek. Without beating around the bush, that resume does not stand out and is too cookie cutter. I'm sure Rex put effort into it, but for a big time job, employers will shit on that resume due to it's more fill-in-the-blank approach and lack of creativity that sets you apart from anyone else. Not to be negative, but it's too obvious you used a standard template and choose not to add anything different to it. Add that in with the errors and this resume is bound to end up in the recycle bin fast.
Dayna also is right as well. While I found the number to be low (and growing ever lower due to the over-competitive times), some employers don't want a fancy show. They want their stuff straight to the point. Simplicity is a good thing, depending on the job you go for. Flashy can be just as negative as is being too plain. Looking back at the jobs Rex said he is going for, I still wouldn't recommend this style. I'd spice it up a bit. Remember, you're grabbing the attention of somebody who does this for a living. They see enough resumes a day. How will you differentiate yourself? Jobe isn't making up shit when he says employers will tl;dr resumes. It happens daily. Make your resume scream "AYO DOE, FLOCK TO ME LIKE THE BITCHES AT THE WOLFGANG SHOW".
Lastly, I really don't know what it is like in Michigan for you guys. I can only vouch for Chicago. What has applied for me and many others here may be 180 for you guys. Just my 2cents. Best of luck, Rex.

ummm okay. If I was in your situation I would be concerned. And just because they already accepted payment doesnt mean your CC could refund you and go after them. maybe it's just all random that they screwed up the order and then had their site go down.
weve been corresponding for a few weeks its not like it happened as soon as they got my money and the package was legit shipped to my house but someone must have screwed up with the address there wouldnt tracking info for it if it never existed

I checked with the BBB on the company and you are right it looks legit. Looks like they didnt realize their site lease was expiring and someone renewed the name and is trying to extort money out of them for them to get it back. lol. )
It's nothing you need to be concerned with. They are either having webpage problems or their domain name expired and someone else bought it. That doesnt mean they are no longer a business.... just that someone else has their www site.
Just call them or email them and I am sure they will get your battery all straightened out.
