There used to be a time when soccer fans supported their club or country with face paint, scarves, song and enthusiasm. And now, in preparation for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, there's another way to show your fanaticism: stab vests.
For the low, low price of $70 (U.S.) you can design a vest that will protect you from knife attacks as you proudly display your patriotism. Surprisingly, this isn't going over well. According to reports, the Football Supporters' Federation (FSF) has condemned Protektorvest, the company that manufactures the stab vests, for creating a climate of fear and danger around the World Cup.
World Cup and Euro Cup dont have that vibe anymore.... FIFA has done great with preventing that sort of thing from even starting. They've tagged/banned known hooligans from booking flights to these events; and same goes for local soccer federations.
i wish i could have went to the one in germany....i heard they had to hire like 3 times the ladies that already worked in there brothels for the crowd of the cup
