Any reputable tattoo artist will NOT tattoo someone under 18.

That's not even all of it. The younger you are when you get tats, the worse they'll look as you get older. Something you might want at 16, you might regret or not want at 18 or 22. You have to sit on a tattoo idea for atleast 3-5 years. If you still want it after that time then get it. And lastly, almost all tattoo artists won't touch anyone under 18 even with consent

since when? i thought you just needed parental consent. i know a few people that got tattoos before they were 18.

Found a place with a good reputation that does people under 16 if they have consent, birth certificate, and ID.

Depends on State I suppose.

It is violation of section 260.21 of New York State Penal Law to tattoo minors under the age of 18, regardless of parental consent.
