I actually plan on buying floor tickets for my dad and I next time he comes around because my dad has been playing Springsteen for me since the day I was born.
    Sounds like child abuse.
Yeah it's sad that he made me listen to good music
I think it's cool that you still embrace your Dad's favorite music, if he was passionate about it. I'm not into Springsteen at all myself, but I can appreciate what you're saying, because I am a father and I hope when my kid(s), get older they will continue to appreciate my favorite band(s) like Iron Maiden, in addition to whatever else it is that they like.

yeah my dad had no interest in music, only sports, which was cool too, I guess, because I was very good in sports mostly due to him.

I paid 300 to do a VIP thing with Pantera on the Reinventing the Steel tour. Got to hang and drink and smoke with Pantera after the show and I don't regret spending a dime of that.

you have no idea how much i want to be you right now...you are a god

    okay a couple things

1.Springsteen is not the greatest musician ever but he is a damn good songwriter and is a better songwriter than any metal band talked about on here that i can promise you. He has one of the most impressive musical catalogs in american history and is very good live, usually palying over three hours
    2. his albums havent been really good though since 1988, the 70's being his peak
    3. his shows arent 200 dollars, every ticket is the same price floor or nose bleed. its around 125 bucks per ticket which i agree is alot but is worth it to see him at least once

    that is all carry on

I got to hang with Pantera before they were big when they opened for Testament and Wrathchild America. I helped them hand out stickers and 3 song demo tapes. the 3 songs were to promote their upcoming album Cowboys From Hell. Didnt realize at that time they would become big. All 4 members of the band were mingling with the crowd waiting to go in, promoting themselves

Thanks man. That's a big part of it. I really like the lyrics and music but it's a big connection with my dad

There's a band called The Tragically Hip that do 5 hour setlists. 3 hours is a lot, but not the most.

i can understand on the surface why people dont like springsteen but if you get past his boring hits like glory days and dancing in the dark and you ignore his political mumbo jumbo then you can see that he put out hundreds of great songs back in the day that are truley works of art and can stand against any other band in his era. now that is a run on sentence!

Hey, the hits are still good but if you want amazing lyrical content that means a lot then yeah listen to stuff that's not the hits

I actually like Springsteen, including his boring hits and political mumbo jumbo lol

I also like giving Santana a hard time for saying he'd spend 200$ to see the man.
  • SantanaSantana Posts: 16,743 juggalo
    <_>

I don't like the political crap because I'm conservative but I love all his songs
  • SantanaSantana Posts: 16,743 juggalo
Oh and I'd gladly spend $300 to see him
