"why would people just a few years ago say a guy who's been around for 30+ in one of the biggest bands in history not be remembered?"
I said "quite a few" meaning a lot, referring to 30 years ago when they were in their prime, bitter beings across the world said they will go nowhere. Now bitter beings on a message forum say Behemoth will go nowhere when they're in their prime.
"The nature of Halford's legendary status is and will be completely different from Nergal's. Halford's status is going to be that of a founding father, because that's what he is. Nergal's will be just remembered as a fantastic musician and greatly influential."
You're predicting the future, you can't judge where Nergal will be 30 years from now, sure he might not leave his mark as much as Halford did, but the original argument was who can put on a better show today, not who is a bigger legend.
I certainly don't see people saying Behemoth isn't going anywheres. They've already made their mark. I don't see people 10 much less 30 years from now going out a buying Behemoth albums though. Then again I could be wrong. But I doubt it.

Conversations are dynamic, and it has changed. I don't believe that Behemoth can unleash something more original than they already have done. Therefore, I believe they have reached their artistic peak. Not to say I'm counting them out.
Well if they're still making them 30 years from now, there will be people buying them. Who knows, maybe Behemoth will make that one song that gets them all over the mainstream, you never know.

People better, or otherwise labels will have to get creative in order to make money. That usually means something bad for us.
Haha true, and for the record, I'm not trying to get an e-fight going, just defending a favorite band much like you are as well.

This, plus I pictured Ben Aflec with corpse paint on slowly walking away from a church and hitting a button making it detonate in the backround.
