Sony has a movie coming out next week with Ryan Reynolds called 'Life'. It's about an alien creature found in space in the form of an amorphous sentient goo that latches on to people. Sony also just announced they're doing a full on R rated Venom film next year. Coincidence?
I did enjoy some of the new back stories about some of the Power Rangers history. However I felt the movie dragged out a bit with not a lot happening and then the ending felt rushed.
Mid-credit scene is probably exactly what you expect.

I actually really enjoyed it. I'm at about 8/10. I thought the pacing was excellent actually and the characters were actually fleshed out which they almost never were in the tv show. I was uncomfortable with the redisgns at first but everything worked for me here (except Alpha). Admittedly, I cringed at the angsty vibe in the trailers but it really did help the characters feel three dimensional and it was nice seeing them basically tell Zordon to fuck off when they first meet because that feels like what an actual teenager would do. Also, the nods back to the show were great. It wasn't blinded by nostalgia and it played its cards right when making references as they never really felt forced or out of place. My only real complaint was that the climax all took place around one of the most annoying and imo mis placed product placements ever lol took me out of the movie for a little bit. Goldar was also pretty generic but that didn't bother me too much. Rita was actually a threat which was great to see and the suits and zords legitimately looked good. All in all, it was a pretty good movie, honestly. I definitely did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The mid credits scene was expected but that cameo right before the end was awesome. I had heard nothing about that at all. I'm actually fine with a sequel here (although 5 is a little extreme which is what I hear they have planned). I'd reccomend it. The grittiness worked for this movie.
