The purpose of this thread is self explanatory. Nevertheless, suggest bands to other people, also read others suggestion to find new bands, it's a word of mouth promotional for bands. So to twist it up, name some of your favorite bands and than name bands similar to those that you think are less likely to be known.
I am a Prog/Power metal head so my suggestions are based off of bands like Dream Theater, Symphony X, Edguy/Avantasia, Rhapsody of Fire, Blind Guardian, Sonata Arctica and Kamelot.
Falconer
Anubis Gate
Grand Magus
Primal Fear
Communic
Sabaton
Pathosray
Masterplan
Nocturnal Rites
Seventh Wonder
Therion - Note: this band doesn't sing in english
Rebellion - they remind me of Amon Amarth lyrically wise.
I hope someone can become a fan one at least one of these bands.

that thread is pretty sweet. thanks
As far as i know (im a somewhat big Therion fan).... a good 98-99% of their songs are English.
... although a lot of them contain maybe a chorus or a couple verses in different languages; but the main part of those songs are still in English.
i wouldn't say i'm that big of a fan, but i am getting there and 90% of the songs i've heard aren't in english. however i' haven't listened to every album yet either.
note on pathosray though, everyone who knows of them says the first album (self-titled) is way better than their second (sunless skies). which is true, however, the second album i love just as much.
Oh and anubis gate i can't forget them amazingly talented.
it's called the band recomendation thread

can a mod close this thread? We don't need doubles
I have heard Falconer; not Pathosray. I'll check em out when i get home tonite.
And Anubis gate is cool... they have one of the sickest intros i've ever heard. (i forget which song/album) It's a keyboard solo intro.
Back on topic...
Pathosray is legit man, not going claim they are the best new thing or some shit but they have some talent especially their self-titled debut. But I suppose that is how it always goes, the debut is amazing than it drops off from there.
As for Falconer, I suppose they did not impress you that much huh? Just a hunch based on your lack of mention towards them.
I don't know which song that is, I will have to find it and let you know...but their release last year is by far in my top 3 albums of the year.
