Can't blame Mets failures on injuries. They weren't hitting before everyone got hurt. I don't know if it's a hangover from last year or they just simply overachieved last year. What a letdown.
We're only 3.5 games back in the wild card with a month left to play. Im not gonna get too optimistic but no one expected the Yankees to be where they are now, especially after getting rid of Miller, Chapman, and Beltran. Plus, Gary Sanchez wasn't even one of Cashman's "untrade-ables." We still have Judge, Mateo, Severino, and Bird, plus all the new prospects we got at the deadline. We got the #2 farm system in the league behind the Brewer's but unlike them, we still have a shot at the postseason. If Sanchez stays healthy through next season, McCann becomes expendable which should bring in another good prospect or two at next year's deadline and shed another 20 mil. I'm sure someone will pay big for McCann next season. Hes getting pretty old for a catcher but he brings a lot to the table. He works great with pitchers and he's still got some power.
Miller is the best reliever in baseball. The only pitcher I would use as a closer over Miller is Chapman and that's only cuz Chapman sells tickets. People will stick around to see a guy throw 105 mph. Miller has the best numbers of any reliever in the last two and a half seasons doe.
The Royals are a bunch of fucking faggots. Only they would throw at a 23 year old kid while they're up 8-1 just cuz Girardi was arguing the strike zone. Fuck KC.
McCann has a full no-trade claus. He will pick where he goes next, so they can't sell him to the highest bidder. Other teams know that. They'll have to eat a chunk of salary to get rid of him, so they might decide it's easier to keep him
Oh yeah. I forgot Cashman handed out no-trade clauses to everyone he signed before we started rebuilding. It would still be easier to move him than Ellsbury or Gardner. Even if he stays, he'll be a better DH than Arod.
Yeah I really don't know what they were thinking with Ellsbury. Dude had one fluke 30 homer season and a bunch of injury issues. They got swept up in thinking they were stealing him from the Red Sox

Been looking forward to Swanson playing all year now. I hope the hype is real, because I've seen him compared to Jeter a lot
