Sale is already great, if he had the Trigers run support last year he probably would have been 20-5 instead of 11-14. His delivery does scare me though. He has a very violent delivery that looks like his entire arm could fly off during a pitch some day.
85-77 not all that bad considering the top half of our lineup sat on the bench last year. Teixeira, Youkilis, Granderson and Jeter were gone for pretty much the entire season, Arod was gone for half the season and the rest of the team was on and off the DL.
Before all you tell me all those players aren't relevant anymore:
You're acting like no one has ever come back strong from an injury. Then you add Tanaka, Ellsbury, McCann, and Beltran.
You're talking about the team that's only missed the playoffs twice in the last two decades. They made it to the ALCS in 2012 (and admittedly choked pretty goddamn hard) when injuries weren't much of a factor. Is it really that hard to imagine the Yankees in the playoffs?
Using stats from two years ago doesn't hold much water. Jeter is a shell of what he was and A-Rod is garbage. Sabathia's showing his age and Pettitte is gone. Oh, and there's the whole issue of not having Rivera anymore. Boston and Tampa both have rotations that pitch circles around New York. Beltran is a solid player but he's not been consistently healthy lately.
It's the most recent stats they have. Arod is gone (thank god) and that'll free up some cap space (not that it matters). Jeter should've started deteriorating years ago if he was as bad as you say he is.
Pettitte was solid last year but we just signed a guy who went 24-0 last season with a 1.27 ERA. Granted it was in Japan but they know how to play over there. Even if it's considered to be about equal to Triple-A ball, 24-0 is still fuckin crazy.
They're pitching might be a small step above our's, but our new lineup crushes.
Gardner LF
Jeter SS
Ellsbury CF
Teixeira 1B
Beltran RF
Soriano DH
McCann C
Johnson 3B
Roberts 2B
With that kind of run support, we don't have to have the best starting pitching in the league.
It still baffles me, all the money the yankees scumbag owners throw around like its nothing, but they let Cano, the best 2nd basemen in the league walk like its nothing. makes no sense.
Nigga wanted 300 mil for 10 years... Yankees ain't doing that shit again.
He found a team that'll give him his mega contract and it turned out to be not New York. Now he's bitching that he needs support in the lineup.... Bitch, if you took a pay cut, maybe the broke-ass Mariners could afford another decent bat.
But if he was willing to take a pay cut, he'd still be with the Yankees.

Good luck staying healthy with that rotation and lineup
I'm not worried. The rotation shouldn't have a lot of injury problems. If Tanaka and Nova put up numbers, we lockin up a playoff spot for sure.
Yeah Yankees are like the 7th or 8th best team in the AL
Yanks are always in the fuckin conversation come playoffs.... Dont see them winning the division tho.

It happens every fucking year.
