I was just on the reds fest page and noticed phillips was not on the list to appear and almost everyone else is the other two that aren't have a thing saying they will be out of the country at that time.
I see both sides of the phillips thing but I will not be very happy if he goes. Dumb move to me but I see what you can get for him. I also think this whole trade thing was all drummed up by media for some pretty lame ass reasons and the reds decided to entertain the thought when teams came calling instead of straight up saying no.
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!
Jacoby Ellsbury has reached agreement on a seven-year contract with the New York Yankees pending a physical exam.
The source confirmed a CBSSports.com report that Ellsbury's deal exceeds Carl Crawford's seven-year, $142 million contract with the Boston Red Sox in December 2010.
Ellsbury was on his way from his home in Arizona to New York on Tuesday night to take the physical, the source said.
CBSSports.com first reported that a seven-year deal with Ellsbury appears to be close. ESPN.com's Buster Olney reported the Yankees have an aggressive offer to Ellsbury.
In recent days, the Yankees have become increasingly pessimistic that they will be able to retain second baseman Robinson Cano, feeling as if a team such as the Seattle Mariners would outbid them and top $200 million for Cano.
Ellsbury is a severe injury liability, but he's also MVP talent when healthy. Only a couple of teams can afford to take the risk that he's more a Paul Molitor than Rocco Baldelli. The biggest thing that sucks about guys like him and McCann going up there is that on other teams and in other cities they might be beloved figures, but with the Yanks they'll just be cogs in an expensive, dramatic machine. I wouldn't want to be anywhere close to the mess that their clubhouse will be next year, regardless of the outcome of A-Roid's hearing
Yeah. Saw it coming about a year out. El Oso Blanco coming out thumping sealed it. I'm just glad he hit the market this season instead of last so he got paid
