The Tigers were what, second in the AL in hitting this past season? And Miggy had a Triple Crown under his watch. How do you gather that he was horrible?
You really think he had a lot to do with our hitting? We have the best player on the planet and all star talent surrounding him...all you have to do is see one of our players on a slump and know he was garbage....every player that ever hit a slump was in it forever...Jackson....fielder....shit go back to Rayburn....look how much Jackson struck out hitting lead off...where was he to help get us out of a slump when we needed it most? Flat out I love Leyland and his coaches attitude...but the entire team suffered from mismanagement....and it probably has cost us championships

Yeah....no. Pretty easy to explain the last three years without getting into coaching. Jackson's hitting has actually improved since he got to Detroit. What does that tell you? Fielder has never been a good postseason hitter. That has nothing to do with McClendon. Slumps happen in baseball all the time. The facts speak for itself. The Tigers were the second best hitting team in the AL last season. McClendon couldn't magically heal Cabrera's groin or fix a bullpen that could explode at any time.
:-?? It's true....we have minimum 2 hall of famers in our line up....and two other guys who can flat out hit....honestly not finishing first should be considered a failure
:-?? I think our postseason failures have stemmed from either bad personnel choices by Dombrowski, injuries to Cabrera/Martinez/Delmon Young, and a lack of clutch hitting. None of that could have been helped by the coaching staff.
