See whats so bad about Lordi haveing an awesome stage show? I mean since GWAR already did it, does that mean nobody can dress up like monsters onstage? Their music is corny but they are fun as hell to watch.
"but when shit starts getting thrown at bands on stage (aka Iron Maiden)" That's their own fault for opening their mouths and talking shit about Ozzy, while playing his tour.
"I think they really couldn't afford something and Sharon or someone didn't want to help out so they dropped off" Gayhem does the exact same shit, that's why Sevendust dropped in '08. And Sevendust by themselves brings out many more people by themselves than Dragonforce, Daath, and Cynic, for the same price at the same club. AFTER Dragonforce got their gayhem bump in fanbase. So gayhem pulls the same shit on the bands as Ozzfest, but so far Sevendust is the only ones who got fucked due to the fact that they run their own label, and don't have all the corporate money to throw around.
"15 seems kinda like the length club tours do" Normal tours do 30-40 shows.
"i heard the way they pay the bands is something like the headliner gets paid like 100,000 per show or maybe the whole tour and the side stages have to PAY like 10,000 to even be on it after they have been chosen by ozzy" Headliners get upwards of $300,000. SOAD got $325,000 per show in 2006. The sidestage bands do have to pay, but generally, their record labels will throw the cash for them to get on, since they will be the ones profitting from all the record sales. Which is why a band who's at the end of their current record contract usually will not be one of the opening sidestage bands, because the label doesn't want to front money for a band that might not be making money for them the next year.
"Bands drop off because they're treated poorly on Ozzfest." I've heard bands speak very highly of Ozzfest. The ones that don't like Ozzfest are the ones like Strapping Young Lad, where they think they're in charge. Ozzfest sets out rules, and the bands have to follow them. The only people that don't have to follow the rules, are the Osbournes. And when the bands consider themselves too good to have to follow the rules, then they get treated badly.
No, Jaycup. No trolling whatsoever in my past two posts of this thread. Just because I disagree with some people on a subject, does not automatically mean I'm trolling.
