You're funny to assume everything the government does is always a big idea thought up by Obama. Not to mention, Obama's name doesn't even come up in that article, someone else's does that signed the order.
You know what argument im tired of? The one where people say, well if it saves one life why not try it. By that way of thinking you should sit at home and not do anything.
Ban driving! -why would you do that!? Well if it saves one life why not try it... -okay.jpg
Its even more annoying when someone throws child into that mix. "If it saves one child why not try it"
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!
or the argument about killing bears/wolves/mountain lions/etc just because they wander into human properties who happen to feed them and then get desensitized to humans
if you really think they're just timing your calls, you're being naive
I'm failing to see why you care about my opinion so much.
it's not just you. a lot of people have the same/similar opinion. that's why this shit is being allowed to begin with. it's nauseating. i can't help but rail against it.
He's just trying to broaden your thought process but you're closed off to the idea.
I do that with most conspiracy theorists.
The point he is making is it starts out with something simple and then becomes a large problem. Think of building the base of a snowman. You start with a small snowball and roll it into a huge one.

Only thing you've said that I disagree with. One, this is very classified information that's been revealed here. If there was more to this story, I believe it'd be figured out before this is published. Second, there's logistically no way to screen and process EVERY SINGLE PHONE CALL made by a Verizon customer in the United States for content. It's just not happening. Third, it's not naive to think so, it's pragmatic. If it's nearly impossible logistically for them to do it, they're not doing it. I can guarantee that.
Either way, as an American, you should be outraged by this. This is a true violation of the fourth amendment, not that DNA law. I also disagree with the sentiment that this isn't the fault of Obama, etc. either. This is the sort of stuff that defines a presidency, and they're doing a pretty terrible job of keeping this stuff under wraps. Makes me think that this may be the most privacy-violative administration in American history.
