  Its not used as much as it used to be...i don't even use it that often...when im texting someone looking for an ounce i usually just say "hey man you got any smoke?" but just because you or any one you know doesn't use the word dope doesn't mean that over the years dope hasen't commonly been used to describe weed. I bet you could watch several episodes from cops in the 90's and find them describing weed as dope
