Definitely was. Advice still holds but it’s not great rail advice. You can’t apply it everywhere all the time. Shit is already hard financially for lots of people, and rules are changing with all this upcoming tariff bullshit. Who knows how thing change down the road. It’s a good time to tighten some purse strings. But if you gotta grind all day every day you still gotta go to the show or do something fun that refreshes the soul. All the grinding has to eventually count for something. Go to the show. You may have to work an extra few days to pay it or but we’re all gonna be working for the rest of our lives anyway.
For the record that’s not my plan. That was financial advice definitely “not” given to my brother in law by a lawyer when he had to go through a bankruptcy. You can lose a four wheeler or other large purchases made on credit before or during a bankruptcy, but not regular everyday purchases like gift cards. You can even buy $100 gift cards from Menards for 11% off during their sales. That’s 11% more free money.

You are not going to be homeless if you go. You can't just eliminate hobbies because you will lose your sense of purpose.
Do not let money be the ultimate driving force in life because you can have 3 million dollars and still feel poor.
