New whitechapel is actually pretty good. I was prepared to be pretty underwhelmed since I haven’t enjoyed anything they put out since I was in high school.
Most successful band in Rock/Metal since Slipknot. Hate it all you want it don’t change shit and it’s for a reason. It’s cool if you got garbage taste.
They aren't really comparable. Slipknot has been touring for 30 years lol.
Doubt ST will be around thst long.
Idk how anyone care really listen to them. They are terrible. To me they sound like a band that a Taylor swift fan would like if they wanted to get into rock.
I mean, rock and metal are dead genres. The only bands zoomers actually like are the metal bands that arent really metal, like Sleep Token or Spiritbox, and then Deftones.
Sure, but Im just saying the "big bands" that are going to stay successful into the future is small, because young people arent into rock/metal like that anymore.
The biggest bands with young people are Sleep Token, Spiritbox, Korn, Deftones, Linkin Park, Ice Nine Kills, and Bad Omens. The slightly heavier people also like Lorna Shore, and Slaughter To Prevail. That's pretty much it. Thats the future of the genre, unfortunately.
Disagree that metal is a dead genre. A bunch of the shows I’ve been to in the last year or two have been sold out. When I saw these same bands 10-15 years ago, they would struggle to get to like 50% capacity. Obviously they’re not gonna be playing your local arena or amphitheater but a lot more people are coming out to the shows. I was genuinely shocked when an all slam lineup headlined by peelingflesh sold out a 500-capacity venue in a smaller market like Greensboro, NC.
Rock music isn’t dead, but it’s dying. Anyone that comes out going forward will probably exist in more of a boutique world instead of the pop world. Kinda like Blues and Jazz.

I dig the cleans they've thrown into recently but then randomly putting out a full album without them of disgustingly heavy tracks was unexpected
