Finally decided to sit down and listen to some new albums I’ve been through 4 so far the last two days
so far (the four in the middle is the last day)

Same but that’s cause of that gigantic Metal catch-up I did this year where I listened to a bunch of band’s last entire decade of releases lmao. As far as new 2023 albums, I’d say this year was more or less the same as any other year as far as volume of shit I checked out.

Cruise Control almost ain’t fair cause it’s a 7 track EP, not an album, but it easily got more replays outta me than any other project this year, so it still seems fitting.
I know it’s an album from last year and I have never liked this band but The devil Wears Prada - Color Decay album is fantastic. I keep going back to it over and over

That was one of the top 5 worst albums I heard when I listened thru all the Metal releases this year. Absolutely atrocious, I couldn’t believe how hard they fell off. I used to love them.
Had a super hard time ranking this year. A lot of killer albums. A huge number in the 30s or 40s could have been album of the year contenders in other years. But we'll go with:

if you don’t listen to drain you should. Think about Power Trip and Municipal waste had a baby but it’s closer to hardcore. They are touring with Neck Deep that’s going to be interesting for crowd watching
