So the Lollapalooza line-up dropped and it looks like Perry Farrell is somewhat getting his wish. It’s been publicly known for a while now that he hated what Lolla became and wanted it to become strictly a Rock/Metal festival again. It’s still mixed this year and has a lotta Hip Hop, EDM, Pop, RnB, etc., but it’s the most Rock it’s had in a long time. Metallica and Green Day are headliners, and Jane’s Addiction is also on the bill. Also, they’re extremely low on the flyer, but Lorna Shore is performing as well. Core or not, I can’t remember the last time Extreme Metal ANYTHING was booked for Lolla, if ever. So it’s wild seeing a Deathcore band on there.

These mfs are definitely unique. I jus listened to a decent amount of their shit after seeing them on the line-up. I had heard of them a lot but never checked them out. This shit is like Blackened Deathcore. Really the only thing Deathcore about em is the breakdowns but other than that it’s a lot of Black Metal riffs and synths. Shit sounds fucking sinister lmao.

My ex is a HUGE fan of theirs. Seen them like 3 times myself. I'm not usually into that style but they're damn good.

    1.) Killswitch Engage/August Burns Red
    2.) From Those Ashes
3.) Sevendust (Playing Animosity in Full)/Tetrarch/Dead Poet Society

Dead Poet Society was decent. Tetrarch sucked dick but their guitarist ripped. Sevendust was unbelievable. Legit one of my top 10 live shows I've ever seen. Animosity is my favorite record from the band and they play a song or two off it semi regularly so it's essentially an album of 11 deep cuts lmao they were songs I never thought I'd hear live and they pulled them off incredibly. I also caught a pic which was dope but my buddy Evan caught a drumstick. 7D is his favorite band and he's seen them around a dozen times, every time wanting to catch a drumstick. He finally got it tonight. The salt from the crowd was amazing. There was this short black guy jamming with us the entire show and when Evan got it he was like "Now that shits not far. This nigga is a million feet tall what the fuck is this shit" =)) Evan is black and like 6'7 for reference. It was just a phenomenal experience. I literally saw 11/13 songs I thought they'd never play, my boy finally caught his drumstick and it was an all around blast. Fucking epic show the band was on fire

Drowning Pool has absolutely no business being that fucking good live holy shit. Pit for Bodies was one of the hardest I've ever been in. Also the singer's speech before they closed with Bodies

"Thank you guys very much, we love you and goodnight. Is what I'd say but you all know we're full of shit. We got one more song. You know the one. We can't leave without playing it. We'd love to play it first but then you'd all leave" =))

But yeah they're damn good live. Saw them open for Scott Stapp a few years ago and the show was way better than expected.

Varials and Tallah werent really my thing. The show was wayyyy oversold too. There were way too many fucking people, to the point it was unenjoyable.

Still cool seeing The Fall of Ideals played all the way through, but man, it was an uncomfortable show

I've been wanting to see GFM for like 4 fucking years. No one else knew who they were and I was hyping them up the entire car ride. They fucking killed it. One of the funnest sets I've seen in a while and the band was on fire. Everyone loved it too. After, they were done, got to meet them which was awesome. They had a bunch of people lined up to meet em and I didn't wanna bug em to sign shit but my buddy in the picture doubled back during Fozzy's set and got my album signed! Fucking great time.
