Forests and trees and all that. After writing, arranging, singing and playing guitar it's gonna be damn near impossible for you to have an unbiased opinion on how things sound.
But is it THAT bad? I get its not great. But I don't want to keep selling myself as an engineer if I'm hurting whatever slight career I have with garbage product.
As someone who genuinely enjoys the tunes i think bringing in a third party is a good idea.
That bad huh? Lol
Its not that bad I just think the mix on the drums sounds super muddy. I think your music writing skills and production skills are not on the same level so you shouldn't hold back one for the sake of the other.
It's really not a case of if you're production is bad because it's not. It's the plain fact that it could clearly be better. We're criticizing, not callingn it shit. You're production isn't shit, I want to make that clear. It could just be so much better.
We got a show in February where every band has to cover a love song during their set. My guitarist just wants to do something by Killswitch, but me and the drummer are like "what's the fun in doing a note for note cover of something in our genre?" and want to do something else. I'm thinking like The Cure, but idk what song we're gonna do...

It's not, but this is MU.
You knew what you were setting up Dime. I blame you for that.
