Either they did a good job disguising things in the trailer of they heard the uproar and went back and changed a ton of shit. The trailer was very misleading in a lot of ways.
Spoiled tag in the title now so we can talk about it.
>origin story >no spidey >blah blah blah
Venom (the character) was the shit! I wasn't in love with it all the way through but there were moments where it was damn near perfect... mainly when Venom was running around fucking shit up and biting off heads. "Pile of bodies, pile of heads" was the quote of the movie for me.
Tom Hardy's best parts were as Venom's unwilling passenger.
Just got out of Venom. Was a lot better than the trailers led me to believe but it was still like a 6/10. Very strong start and the fight/chase scenes were fucking wicked. But the plot was kind of weak and the acting at some points was very bland.
Yoooo these Boomhauer redneck dudes and their girlfriends sitting in the row in front of us were chirping throughout the movie. When stan Lee appeared the guy turns to his girl and says "thats the Marvel guy" and when Woody Harrelson appeared on screen the other one yells "oh shit that's red skull!" and my fiancee and i just start dying of laughter )
The dialogue was so clunkyl and the wig was awful. The wig is fairly comic accurate though so be careful what you wish for I guess. It just seems extra outbox place because it was on Woody, who is instantly recognizable as Woody regardless of the role he plays.

Noah Emmerich from The Americans would’ve been great
