For me, Ascendancy > Ember > the rest. I never understood the Shogun hype. Plus they put out In Waves and that David Draiman produced pile of shit so they lose points for that.
Fall Of Ideals is imo, the ideal metalcore record. Shannon Lucas' drumming on it is far and beyond most of it in the genre.
It seems that Shadows Fall were consistently putting out 7/10 records, and i wouldn't say anything they did was terrible. They just never blew me away with anything.
My top 5 favorite metalcore records are Alive Or Just Breathing by KsE, Fall Of Ideals, Shadows Are Security by AILD, Atreyu's The Curse, and A7X's Waking The Fallen (I hated their last 3 records, but i can't deny this one)
