I was about to look for your comment a couple days ago that I had forgot about. After 1985 was one of the first two songs released, I was kind of skeptical. I liked the song but I wasn't sure what it signaled to come. Fuuuuuck it shreds. I think I side with some of the people that said it might be their most well rounded work. Only a couple listens and I would put it ahead of Meir. I don't think it could pass Kvelertak just because that album was love at first sight. I remember randomly downloading it with a bunch of stuff in 2010 and then for some reason skipping Ulvetid and going directly to Mjod and thinking "I need more of this. I need to start this from the top." I don't have many distinct memories about the first time I heard a band so just for that reason I don't think anything will pass the first album.
Berserker was the other song they dropped along with 1985, so I was kind of familiar with it....but still nattersfet melted my face. Usually I don't like when a band tours heavily under a new album and it dominates the set like UMO playing the same exact Multi-Love dominated set two years in a row.....but I would love to hear every song off of this album live.
Sentient is lit. I think Disco Inferno is my favorite track though. When the music pauses and that bell chimes during the main beat i get hyped every time.
