reviewing the new Anaal Nathrakh for ksjs. I've only heard some of their really old stuff. There's some shit on this album that sounds like it should've been released by a metalcore band in 2009. This sound is a lot more modern than I would've anticipated. Some of the songs rip hard but others are pretty shitty.

This sound is a lot more modern than I would've anticipated. Some of the songs rip hard but others are pretty shitty.
They've gotten really melodic since Vanitas. Eschaton and In The Constellation of the Black Widow are their sweet spot, where they mixed the raw industrial side of their early material with the epic melodic tendencies of their newer stuff, and it sounds great. I like Vanitas a lot, but Desideratum was good but "eh" in my opinion. I'm expecting the new one to be like that, but I'm hopeful anyway. Will still be buying it.
Korn's new album has grown on me so much and I'm very satisfied with it. I never hated it, but wasn't feeling it for a while. There are still a couple of songs I can't dig (Take Me and Please Come For Me) buy everything else is awesome. Not aoty but at least top 5 for me
