On the serious side though, I honestly didn't know AIC was opening so that would have been cool. I was stoked for GnR at rotr 2014 because I'd heard so much about how Axl was really bringing it live even though he looked like an overweight old ass dude with a black girlfriend that did his hair. I made it to one behind the barrier but I was teetering on blackout drunk. Heard my favorite song Mr. Brownstone and backed out because I had to piss so badly. I was also underwhelmed but I bet Slash being on guitar fucking covered that.
AIC got added as the opener only a few weeks ago. And Axl's in pretty good shape now, for what it's worth. He was running around for 2.5 hours and never got out of breath.
Honestly, I'm still sore at GnR for cancelling the show I had tickets for back in '93. I did yard work all summer, tilling yards and laying sod for my dad for the tickets and they canceled like a week before the show. Faith No More was supposed to open. My dad ended up buying me Lollapalooza tickets later to make up for it. I got to see Alice in Chains and Primus in their prime and Tool and Rage in their infancy so it worked out ok in the end, but at the time it was crushing
